Machine Tool Technology (STC-MT1)

Program Description 

Located on the Thomasville and Atmore Campuses, this program prepares students for a fast-paced, high-demand career in Machine Tool Technology.  This program offers an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree option and a certificate option.

Be trained in several skill areas, such as blueprint reading, drill press, lathe, milling machine, grinding operations and computer numerical control (CNC) machines.

Partnerships with local industries give you the chance to compete for high demand career positions or to receive further training in a current position.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology

Length: Two Semesters

The Machine Technology program is designed to help students exit the program with hands-on skill and knowledge recognized by industry partners as the key competencies to succeed in the field of machinist. 

This is a career program designed for students to go directly into the labor market upon completion. Although some of the courses in this program will transfer to four-year institutions, this program is not designed to be a transfer program of study; therefore, it is not subject to the terms and conditions of Alabama Transfers state transfer and articulation reporting system.
