How to Transfer from Coastal

In order to transfer, you must:

  1. Apply for Admission

  2. Check for Scholarships
Apply for Scholarships (Check the university’s website for Transfer Scholarship opportunities)

  3. Apply for Financial Aid
Apply for Financial Aid (Make sure that you send it to all schools that you are considering transferring to)

  4. Send Your Transcripts
Request for your transcript to be sent from Coastal Alabama. (They may need a current transcript and then a transcript at the end of your last semester.) Also, send your transcripts from any other colleges that you have attended.

  5. Consider Housing Arrangements
Apply for housing or look for an apartment if you will be moving away when you transfer. (Many universities have limited housing options and you must apply early, so that you can get a spot in the preferred dorms.

  6. Meet with your Advisor at the University
For many universities, you have the opportunity to begin meeting with advisors from the university as early as your Freshman year at Coastal Alabama. This is to ensure that you are taking the correct courses for when you transfer. Some universities even offer a Transfer Orientation during the Spring Semester of your Sophomore year. This is a great time to go to campus and pick your classes before they are all gone!

  7. Check Medical Requirements
Check to see if the university has a Medical History and Immunization Records requirement.
