Hiring Process
Completing Your Application
To help us understand your experience and qualifications, we ask that your application be filled out completely. Be sure to include:
- All degrees earned and schools attended
- Your full work history, including job titles and responsibilities
- Any credentials or certifications
Tip: Please avoid writing "See Resume"—we need the full details in the application itself.
If you’ve held more than one role with the same employer, list each position separately along with a description of your duties. This helps us see the full picture of your experience.
Highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities as you describe your work—this helps show us why you’re a great fit for the position.
Note: Once your application is submitted for a position, you’ll need to wait 24 hours before making any changes. After that, feel free to update and resubmit—your most recent complete application will be forwarded to the hiring team.
Professional References
We ask that you include professional references when applying. Please list names, contact information, and your relationship with each person.
Transcripts
Depending on the position you’re applying for, transcript requirements will vary. Here’s what you need to know:
Faculty Positions
Please attach unofficial transcripts from institutions where you earned relevant credit. These must be included for your application to be considered for an interview.
Staff Positions
Attach documentation showing that you meet the educational requirements listed in the job posting. This could include unofficial transcripts, diplomas, or other accepted records.
We cannot accept diplomas or grade reports alone. However, transcripts from a college website are fine—as long as they show the following:
- Your name
- The school’s name
- The degree and date earned (if applicable)
All Positions
If you’re hired, we’ll need official transcripts from all schools where you earned credit—submitted within 30 days of your start date.
Transcript Guidelines
What counts as an Unofficial Transcript?
- Photocopies of official transcripts
- Transcripts marked “Issued to Student”
- Online student portal transcripts (must show your name, institution, and degree conferral date if applicable)
If you haven’t attended college, please upload your high school diploma or GED certificate.
What counts as an Official Transcript?
- Sent directly from your school to our Human Resources Office
- Not marked “Issued to Student”
- May also be sent electronically—but only if the school emails them directly to: HR@Coastalalabama.edu
You are responsible for requesting your transcripts and covering any associated fees.
International Transcripts
If your highest qualifying degree is from a non-U.S. institution, you’ll need to submit a course-by-course evaluation from a recognized credential service before your interview.
After you're hired, an official evaluation must be sent directly from the evaluator to our Human Resources Office.
Good news: If your highest degree is from a U.S. school, you won’t need to evaluate international lower-level degrees unless it’s needed for salary purposes.
We accept evaluations only from members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
E-Verify Participation
Coastal Alabama Community College proudly participates in E-Verify, a system used by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to confirm employment eligibility.
As required by the State of Alabama (January 1,2012), all new hires must go through E-Verify. To use this system, a valid Social Security Number is required.
