The Alabama Aviation Center at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley Field was established in January 2001, where students experience hands-on instruction in Airframe Technology and Powerplant Technology. With 15 courses focused on the ins and outs of aircraft maintenance, you can choose the program that suits your career goals. These courses will prepare you to take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification. And, with Alabama's lowest tuition, you can train in accredited courses without spending university prices.

The Alabama Gulf Coast serves as home to many leaders in the aviation industry, including Airbus Final Assembly Line (FAL), ST Engineering Aerospace, Continental Motors, Segers Aero Corporation, Carlisle, Certified Aviation Services, and Collins Aerospace.

These industries need trained, reliable employees to keep their operations moving. Be ready to apply for a career where the workforce needs continue to grow!

In the Powerplant Technology program, you will learn about the manufacture and operation of aircraft engines and propellers, how to operate reciprocating and turbine engines, and much more regarding the major systems that power current aircraft. In the Airframe Technology program, you will practice repairing and maintaining structures that make up the aircraft, including sheet metal and composite structures, hydraulic systems, and communication systems. You will also practice repairs on fuel systems, learn to rig flight control and landing gear systems, and learn to interpret aircraft drawings/schematics.
