Jun 14th, 2021 Featured

BASF recently awarded $30,000 in scholarships to process technology students seeking a career in chemical manufacturing. The students attend Coastal Alabama Community College and participate in BASF's summer internship program at the McIntosh manufacturing facility.

“We’re educating and engaging with our local students about the many career opportunities available in the chemical industry,” says Marcus Pezent, Site Director of BASF in McIntosh. “BASF is providing tangible opportunities for students to learn skills that will help them build a successful career at a company located in the community.”

Michael Blackledge and Kenneth Reeves, both graduates of Leroy High School, were awarded $10,000 scholarships to cover tuition and fees. Brandon Holston and Mackensie Miller were awarded approximately $5,000 to support their second year in the program. Scholarships are awarded based on a student's academic accomplishments, testing results and interview skills.
