Coastal Alabama to Host AI Community Caravan on Monroeville Campus

MONROEVILLE, Ala. — Coastal Alabama Community College will host the AI Community Caravan on Tuesday, September 15, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the John Dennis Forte Library on the College’s Monroeville Campus.

The introductory program is designed to help community members better understand artificial intelligence (AI), how it is changing the way people live and work, and how AI tools can be used in practical, engaging ways.

The AI Community Caravan is not just an opportunity to learn about AI—it is an opportunity to discover how AI can work for you by introducing how to develop various prompts. Whether participants are curious about emerging technology, looking for ways to improve productivity, or simply trying to make sense of the rapidly changing AI landscape, the program provides an approachable introduction to the technology and its potential.

Coastal Alabama Community College also wants area organizations, businesses, civic groups, schools, and other community groups to know that this type of beginner AI education is available for them.

“AI is in nearly every aspect of our lives, and we want our communities to have the knowledge and confidence to understand it and use it effectively,” said Ann Strickland, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Coastal Alabama. “The AI Community Caravan gives people a place to ask questions, explore possibilities, and learn how AI can be useful in their everyday lives.”

The September 15 AI Community Caravan has limited seats available.  However, groups that would like to learn more about AI or explore opportunities to bring AI education to their members are encouraged to contact Coastal Alabama Community College.
