Educational Talent Search Application

To: Prospective Educational Talent Search Student and Parent/Guardian:

Thank you for your interest in the Educational Talent Search (ETS) program. ETS is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and sponsored locally by Coastal Alabama Community College. ETS provides free college, career, and financial aid information to students each year. ETS identifies students who demonstrate an interest or desire to attend college and provides them with the motivation and support to enroll in a program of postsecondary education (college, university, technical or vocational school) after high school graduation.

Educational Talent Search encourages and prepares students for postsecondary enrollment by providing selected students from target schools in grades 6-12 with the following services and activities:

  • Academic Advisement
  • College Awareness Activities
  • ACT Preparation
  • Career Exploration Activities
  • Individual Assistance with College Admissions, Scholarship Applications & Financial Aid Forms for the college(s) of YOUR choice
  • Financial Literacy
  • Connection to tutoring
  • College and Career Tours
  • Study Skills Improvement

In order to be eligible for selection as ETS participants, students must meet the following criterion:

  • Be a U.S Citizen
  • Be at least 11 years of age and in grades 6-12
  • Attend a target school in one of the following counties: Choctaw, Clarke, Escambia, Marengo, Monroe, Washington or Wilcox
  • Commit to be an active participant in the ETS Program until HS graduation; ď‚«Demonstrate an interest or desire to attend college.
