Course Overview:

This course explores literature through the dynamic medium of podcasting. Students will read two works of literature together and delve into the literary conversation by producing a podcast episode for each one. Students will craft episodes blending historical insights, thematic analysis, and character explorations either individually (think Aaron Mahnke of Lore) or by collaborating with other students on a conversational piece. • In our podcasting studio, students will gain hands-on experience with professional equipment such as microphones, interface, and Adobe Audition software. They will learn introductory skills for managing and editing audio files in Adobe Audition. • Beyond technical skills, this course cultivates critical skills such as interview preparation, storytelling strategies, and discussion facilitation. Participants will work together to create podcast episodes that deepen their understanding of literature and refine their ability to lead meaningful conversations. Rich discussion and collaboration are required elements to this course.
