Phi Upsilon Earns Hallmark Awards and Recognition at 2024 Alabama Regional Convention

During the Phi Theta Kappa Alabama Regional Convention on March 8-9, the chapter participated in the much-anticipated Hallmark Awards Program. These awards recognizes superior achievement in Phi Theta Kappa’s programs while encouraging excellence, reflecting fairness, recognizing quality, and enhancing individual and chapter development. Phi Upsilon Chapter had great success, earning the following awards which were judged alongside entries from 27 other Alabama chapters: 

 

  • Distinguished Chapter Award-To be considered, a chapter must submit entries for both the Honors in Action Project and College Project Award. Awards are presented to the top 10 percent of chapters entering these categories.
  • Distinguished Member Award- Anderson Gates earned this prestigious honor. 
  • Distinguished Officer Team Award- Karis Collins, Chloe Moore, Serah Bradford, Cole Nall, Elizabeth Harvell
  • Five Star Chapter Recognition- Five-star status is the highest level of achievement a Phi Theta Kappa chapter can attain through its participation in campus, local, regional, national, and international activities.
  • Honors in Action Theme Award - The Honors in Action Theme Award recognizes chapters whose Honors in Action project award entries scored highest in each of the seven themes related to the 2022/2023 Honors study topic, The Art and Science of Play. The Phi Upsilon chapter was awarded in Theme 4 – Architecture and Design of Play.  
  • Distinguished College Administrator – Dr. Lee Conerly, Coastal Alabama Director of Academic Instruction, received 1 of the 22 administrator awards awarded internationally

Phi Upsilon’s Chapter advisor, Lea-Cameron Nipper stated, “Such accomplishments are a testament to the dedication and leadership of Phi Upsilon officers and members. It has been a privilege to witness the leadership and character development in our group this year.”

 

Phi Upsilon will travel to International Catalyst in Orlando, Florida on April 2-7.
