Course Overview:

This course combines some of the materials used in drawing along with perceptual exercises. We will use graphite pencils, charcoal sticks, ink and watercolor to understand certain drawing media. Students will also learn perceptual skills through exercises in gesture, contour and tonal drawing. Required art supplies: 3B or higher graphite pencil, vine or compressed charcoal stick, pink pearl eraser or kneaded eraser, India ink preferred (but any color liquid ink will work), basic watercolor set, basic watercolor paint brush, 80lb or more multimedia sketchbook at 9x12". Supplies can be bought at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Dick Blick (online). Also, most supplies can be found at Target and Walmart as well.
